If your appliance is leaking liquid onto your countertop, please click the option below that describes the problem:

1. Water has flowed out of the bottle.

2. The rear water reservoir has completely and rapidly drained.

3. Liquid has flowed out of the front residue drawer onto the countertop.

1. Water has leaked out of the bottle.

The water can flow out of the bottle in two ways.

First, if the water doesn't come from the top of the bottle, your bottom bottle cap is missing its seal or is not fully tight.

In this case, water will flow out around the bottom bottle cap. It could be that the cap is not tight enough. Just to be sure, try your best to screw on the cap as tight as possible. If the cap makes a sound when it is screwed on (like a "squeak") you may have to apply some extra force.

When you wash the bottom bottle cap, look carefully to make sure it does not fall out or consider dishwashing the bottle with the bottom cap on the bottle and the top cap off.  To replace the bottom cap seal, see the images below.  Be sure the seal has the elevated part (or "rib") on the inner edge facing upward, as shown in image 3 below.

Second, if the leak is coming from the top of the bottle, you may be missing the top cap seal.

If the top cap is not closed, missing a seal or a Top Cap O-ring, the system will not pressurize and water from the rear reservoir may fill the bottle and then flow out of the top of the bottle.

Third, you may be missing a Spigot O-ring.

In this case, the leak would be less noticeable and may only leak air, but it will cause the drink to loose carbonation.

See if the bottom and top spigot o-rings are in the right location and intact.

2. The rear water reservoir has completely and rapidly drained.

If the rear water reservoir has completed and rapidly drained onto your countertop, one of two things occurred.

First, ensure the rear water reservoir is fully attached and is not broken. It should be flush against the appliance as shown in the image below.  If it is not fully attached or it is broken, it will leak and drain fully and rapidly out the back of the appliance onto your countertop.  If the water reservoir is broken the crack should be easy to see through the clear plastic.  If the water reservoir is broken or leaks even when perfectly attached, please contact customer service or email help@sparkel.com, with the action step "Rear Water Reservoir Broken" and your shipping information, appliance color and when and where the appliance was purchased in the body of the message.

3. Liquid has flowed out of the front residue drawer onto the countertop.

The front residue drawer must be emptied approximately every 5 uses of the appliance.  The level of the front residue drawer can be seen through the window in the front of the drawer.  If it is getting full, empty it down the sink to avoid an overflow onto the countertop.

If an overflow occurs, wipe up the liquid with a damp paper towel or damp cloth.  The residue liquid is water and diluted sodium citrate. It is safe to touch and dispose down the sink drain.
